Independent expertise. Proven experience. Worldwide support.
YKing Marine is an independent marine technical consultancy, engineering and service company with more than twenty years of practical experience in the yacht and superyacht industry.
From Germany, 2002
Originally established in Germany in 2002, YKing Marine developed from a highly specialised technical service operation into an internationally active marine engineering and technical consultancy company.
More than two decades of practical involvement in the yacht and superyacht industry have established extensive experience across technical service, troubleshooting, repair, system modification, automation, commissioning, inspections, technical assessment and project supervision.
Today, YKing Marine operates internationally through YKING MARINE LLC-FZ in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a corporate presence in Florida, USA.
The company supports yachts, Owners, Captains, Chief Engineers, management companies, shipyards and specialist contractors worldwide.
Assessment and execution
YKing Marine combines independent technical assessment with practical engineering capability.
This combination allows technical involvement to extend beyond identifying and documenting a problem. Where required, the same technical understanding can continue through fault analysis, system evaluation, engineering, repair, modification, automation, commissioning, recommissioning and final technical verification.
Mechanical equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, sensors, safety circuits, PLC controls and HMI interfaces are considered as interacting elements of the complete system rather than as isolated disciplines.
This approach provides continuity from the initial finding through technical evaluation to the completed solution.
Technical insight. Practical execution.
Beyond individual systems
More than two decades in the yacht and superyacht industry have created technical experience extending beyond individual machinery and automation systems.
YKing Marine works across the interfaces between mechanical engineering, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, automation, yacht interior systems, technical outfitting, marine construction and installation coordination.
This multidisciplinary understanding becomes particularly important during refits, system modifications and complex troubleshooting, where the source of a problem frequently crosses several technical disciplines.
Automatic sliding doors, watertight door systems, shell doors and hull openings, bulwark systems, passerelles and gangways, accommodation and boarding ladders, swim platforms, beach club systems and sea terraces, tender garage systems, foremast systems, cranes, davits and lifting appliances are examples of systems in which mechanics, hydraulics, electrical engineering and automation must operate as one functional unit.
The objective is therefore not simply to evaluate an individual component, but to understand the complete technical interaction behind the system.
Standards and professional development
YKing Marine operates within an ISO 9001:2015 registered Quality Management System, supporting documented processes, traceability, consistent technical execution and continuous improvement.
Independent professional qualification forms an additional part of the company's technical foundation.
Frank Borchert is a Senior Surveyor and Recognized Expert Member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Sachverständiger und Fachgutachter e.V. (BDSF), Germany.
Professional training and specialist courses have additionally been completed with recognised Classification Societies in areas relating to classification, statutory requirements and marine technical assessment.
Personal certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024 is currently in progress.
Combined with more than twenty years of practical yacht and superyacht experience, these qualifications support an approach based on technical competence, independence, documented findings and professional accountability.
Independent by principle
YKing Marine is independent of individual manufacturers, automation platforms and shipyards.
This independence allows technical problems to be assessed on their actual condition and technical merits rather than according to a predetermined product, supplier or commercial affiliation.
Existing equipment is not automatically considered obsolete simply because individual components or control systems have reached the end of manufacturer support.
Where technically appropriate, proven mechanical and hydraulic equipment can be retained, repaired or modified while obsolete controls, sensors, safety functions and automation components are modernised.
Recommendations are based on the requirements of the individual vessel and consider safety, functionality, reliability, maintainability, technical compatibility and long term serviceability.
The same principle applies whether the assignment involves a single technical inspection, troubleshooting an individual system, a major modification or refit, commissioning and recommissioning, or worldwide technical support.
Independent assessment. Technically justified solutions.
